Correspondence : to Van Wyck Brooks, 1909-1949.

Contains correspondence (1909-1922) and articles about Yeats (1922-1949). Correspondence is extensively interspersed and decorated with studies and sketches of faces by Yeats. On one item (addressed to and a gift to Brooks from Yeats's daughter Lily, 1915) contains ink drawings of both Van Wyck and Eleanor Stimson Brooks, the latter of which is a particularly good likeness. Also contains a photograph of Van Wyck Brooks and Yeats in New York (ca. 1911) and a pencil sketch of Brooks (dated 1910).

Lily Yeats was the sister of W.B. Yeats and of Jack Yeats, and the daughter of John Butler Yeats. She was an embroiderer and worked with William Morris. Later, she headed the embroidery division of Dun Emer Industries while her sister Elizabeth was in charge of the hand press. The press was later renamed the Cuala Press.
